Vocational Courses usually happen inside a college, but in some countries that isn't a requirement: some English schools and universities offer them too. In practice, it means taking one module of the institution's program independently, without enrolling in the whole course. At the end, you get a certificate.

In Canada, this type of course is called a micro credential, though the name can vary by institution and country.
