College

Your education with an international diploma

Study at a college abroad, with programs ranging from Certificate to Master's, for those already of legal age.

What It Is

An education closer to the job market

A college is a higher-education institution focused on practical training, closer to the job market than a traditional university. Programs tend to be shorter and geared toward a specific field, with plenty of hands-on practice throughout.

Unlike Brazil, there's no entrance exam: spots are usually first-come, first-served, meaning whoever enrolls first secures the spot, while it's still available. The exception is a master's program, which goes through a more selective process, evaluating each candidate's profile.

College vs University

What's the difference?

Two different ways to continue your education abroad.

College

Practical focus, closer to the job market
Smaller classes, closer to the professor
Shorter programs, from Certificate to Bachelor's (and Master's at some institutions)
First-come, first-served enrollment, while spots are available

University

More academic focus, with an emphasis on theory and research
Larger classes
Bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs
A more selective admissions process, evaluating each candidate's profile
Programs

Several levels of education

From the shortest and most specific to the most complete.

Certificate

The shortest program, focused on one specific skill or area.

Diploma

A slightly more complete program, with more subjects and class hours.

Advanced Diploma

Goes further than the Diploma, with more time and more depth in the field.

Graduate Certificate

For those who already graduated and want to specialize in a specific area.

Bachelor's Degree

A full undergraduate program, equivalent to a traditional university degree.

Master's Degree

Some institutions already offer master's programs too.

Housing

A place to call home

Some institutions have their own student residence. Generally, students tend to stay in a homestay (host family), student residence, or renting on their own.
